Useability and third-party plugin compatibility
News Media is a theme designed for professional users of RapidWeaver. It comes supplied with a good selection of general style and colour settings making things easier for novice users or those looking to deploy websites quickly. Where further configuration, layout or style changes are required, CSS, HTML or Javascript code is often required. This can get very complicated and knowledge of code and web design would certainly be advantageous. If you are considering making heavy changes to a theme, it is definitely worth working from a duplicated copy. The RapidWeaver user manual covers aspects of theme management including duplication of themes. Customisations to themes can also be carried out on request. Use the contact links on the ThemeFlood website for further details.
The theme has been fully tested on a range of web browsers across various operating systems including Mac, Windows and Linux. If you have made modifications to the theme, it is recomended you re-test your website for compatibility. There are some free online services available such as Browser Shots which can do this for you. Alternativily you can either find somebody or test the website yourself.
News Media has been tested and confirmed to work with the following third-party plugins for RapidWeaver:
Accordion
Blocks
Carousel
Cartloom
Collage 1
Collage 2
CoverFlow
Columns
FAQMaker
FlexibleList
FormLoom
GoogaLoom

PayLoom

It should be assumed that News Media will also be compatible with plugins not featured on that list. The theme features a plugin_header tag where third-party plugins can inject their own code and a standard content tag where plugin content can be inserted. If you happen to come across a plugin or plugin update which does not seem to work correctly with News Media, please report it.
Note that some plugins will try to use their own CSS styling or templates and overide theme style settings as a result. Some poorer-quality plugins may also introduce browser compatibility problems or invalid code.
